About Me

Tamara, founder and artist behind Tamara Silk Scarves

Thank you for visiting my shop!

My journey began during my first visit with my parents to a family friend’s home in Lebanon. During our conversation, she learned that I loved drawing and invited me to see what she was working on. I followed her, not knowing what to expect, and the moment I saw her silk paintings, I was completely taken. It was the first time I had ever heard of silk painting.

She kindly taught me the basics, from stretching the fabric to applying the dye, and I was fascinated by the entire process.

Thirty years later, I rediscovered the art of painting on scarves and fell in love all over again with the endless creative possibilities. I began creating my own designs, experimenting with colours and patterns, and sharing them with friends. One day, I surprised a friend with a hand-painted silk scarf for her birthday. She encouraged me to turn my passion into a business, and it has grown into the art you see today.

There is nothing more fulfilling than bringing the beauty of nature to life on silk and other fabrics.
